Rolling Rolling Rolling, Get Those Cookies Rolling!
Cookies are a part of what we do at Cookie Crumb Delights. It's been many years since I've made a rolled and cut cookie. So, doing these brought back memories and refined some skills I'd forgotten
This recipe came from Sally's Baking Addiction. Sally's becoming a go to for some baking trial runs.
The dough came out beautifully soft, easy to work with. Working with the the Cookie dough, it felt like kneading playdough—great smelling play dough!
Something I learned, use parchment to roll out the dough. It is such a game changer!! The rolling pin roll smoothly over the dough, there's no need for extra flour to keep the dough from sticking, and it's much easier to roll to 1/4” to 3/8” thickness. Everything stays nice and clean, and rolling goes so much smoother.
These cookies turned out nicely for my first try in 10 years. Crisp yet chewy, perfect for adding royal icing or a glaze.
I've got another batch of this sugar cookie dough ready as well as red velvet dough, just waiting to roll, cut and bake. The red velvet is a great tasting yet not too sweet dough, perfect vehicle for icing.
These recipes are going into our Christmas cookie boxes. We're offering Decorate Yourself boxes as well as ready to eat cookies. Check out our Facebook page for the official launch to grab your box!
