The OG Crispy Rice Treat

Crispy rice treats are a wonderful treat for all ages! They are simple to create with minimal ingredients and cost. This is a great recipe to make with your kids, creating memories along the way.

For your batch of Crispy Rice treats, you will need:

One silicone spatula

One small soup pot

One 8x8 inch (or 9x 13 inch) baking pan

Parchment paper

Ingredients:

One stick of butter

2 TBS Vanilla

One standard sized bag of marshmallows (generally 10 to 14 ounces)

6 cups of crispy rice cereal

Take your parchment and fit it into your baking pan. This will make removing your treat slab from the pan much much easier. I slashed the corners in order for the paper to fit in better.

Pour 6 cups of crispy rice cereal into a large mixing bowl.

In the saucepan, melt the stick of butter, vanilla, and marshmallows together, stirring constantly with your silicone spatula. I use medium-high setting on my electric stove, you use whatever setting you feel most comfortable with. You could also use the microwave. I feel there is more control in using the stove top personally. You use whichever method you prefer.

Pour the butter mixture over the cereal and mix until every bit of cereal is covered. This will take a little bit, and you may want to grab a wooden spoon for this if the spatula doesn’t feel strong enough. Keep stirring and folding everything together, scraping the bottom of the bowl, it will seem like there’s not enough mixture to cover it all, but there will be.

Scoop the entire marshmallow covered mixture into the prepared pan. Spread out as evenly as you desire with your spatula or spoon. Cover with foil if desired, set on a cooler counter top or in the fridge until set.

Once set up and hardened cut into desired size pieces. Enjoy!
